Comparison
Recompete vs Stotles
Both surface public contracts before they come up for re-tender. They are built for different markets, and for a large number of teams Stotles is the right answer. Here is the honest split.
- You sell primarily into the UK or Ireland. Stotles aggregates Find a Tender, Contracts Finder and Public Contracts Scotland alongside TED, and post-Brexit the UK runs a separate regime that Recompete does not cover at all.
- You want bid management workflow — qualification, collaboration, AI-assisted bid drafting. Recompete is a data service, not a workspace, and is not trying to be one.
- You want a mature product with an established customer base. Stotles has been shipping for years; this is new.
- You sell into continental Europe. Germany alone is 71,106 tracked contracts, France 35,116, Spain 6,789, Italy 7,159 — 204,049 in total across 44 countries.
- You need to know how much of a row is actually verified. Every record states whether the expiry was published by the buyer or computed from a duration, and whether the named supplier holds that specific lot or merely appears on the notice.
- You want an agent-native interface. The same data is available over MCP and A2A, not only through a web app — so an agent can query the corpus as a tool.
- You want to see the inventory before paying. Counts, aggregate value and window-opening dates are open; only the rows are paid.

Why continental coverage is harder than it looks
Germany, Sweden, Poland and the Netherlands publish an explicit contract end date. France, Spain and Italy usually do not — they publish a duration instead. A tool that only reads the end-date field sees barely a thousand French contracts. Deriving the expiry from a published start date plus a published duration recovers 35,116, and every recovered row is marked derived so it is never mistaken for a published fact.
That is the difference between covering the EU and covering the part of the EU that happens to fill in one field.

Recompete is paid by vendors for delivered leads, never for outcomes. No fee is contingent on winning a contract. Ranking is computed from published procurement data alone and is not influenced by who pays.
